Is the Merchant & Trade rooftop bar at Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel open to guests under 21?

Merchant & Trade is a strictly 21+ rooftop experience during regular operating hours. Security checks IDs at the elevator before guests access the 19th floor.

Guests under 21 may attend private, pre‑arranged daytime events when included on the approved event list. Exceptions must be confirmed in advance by the venue team.

Can I visit the rooftop bar if it is raining in Charlotte?

Yes, Merchant & Trade includes a fully enclosed indoor lounge that remains open regardless of weather. Guests can still enjoy cocktails, skyline views, and the rooftop ambiance indoors. View Virtual Tour

The outdoor terrace and lawn may be temporarily closed during storms, lightning, or high winds for guest safety.

Does the rooftop bar offer bottle service?

Guests who prefer a casual atmosphere can simply order individual drinks, local beers, and craft cocktails at the indoor bar without booking a table.

Is it possible to rent out the entire rooftop for a private event?

Yes, Merchant & Trade is available for full buyouts accommodating up to 250 guests. Buyouts include exclusive access to the indoor lounge, outdoor terraces, and customizable food and beverage packages.

For smaller groups, full buyouts aren’t necessary. We offer “event zones” like the VIP Terrace or Event Deck that can be reserved for groups of 15–50.
